Get More than just Chocolate from TCH

No sweet-toother has ever developed a disdain for chocolates. No matter where we are, how old we grow, chocolates remain a penchant with us. Of course, we battle with soiled milk teeth and regular visits to the dentist. Those of us who can afford it, opt for root canal now. But, there is something so satisfying about that bar of chocolate kept in the fridge - like it is a best friend whom we can go to anytime we want. Now, a lot of us have admired chocolate fountains, chocolate gulab-jamuns and more. Bhubaneswar was still in dearth of quality chocolate houses where one could get what our NRI cousins always flaunted - foreign chocolates. Damn! They really fooled us back in the day with all those imported chocolates.
There is but one place where me and my partner would stroll around quite often, making it our favourite hang-out zone or "our spot". The Chocolate House, Saheed Nagar, remained our most frequented place for over a year. We had exhausted their menu and once they brought out a new one, we checked in on that too. The Breakfast Story at TCH is highly recommended. Blend in two different types of breakfast - we ordered English and American - and you will find it more feasible than all of the other items individually.

While the English breakfast was less fussy with omelette, beans, mayonnaise, boiled veggies and butter, the American breakfast was way more elaborate - bacon, sprouts, egg pouch, omelette, toast with butter as well a bowl full of fruits. Both of these put together cost us a little over Rs 500, significantly lower than the bill we received every other time when we combined pizza, shakes or mojitos. The Breakfast Story can be way more fulfilling and also go easy on your stomach without incurring much expense.
We thought we were over with the story. But, it kept coming. No sooner had we finished the food, we had apple juice and pancakes on our table. My partner was worried if we were being fooled. But, the service guy smiled and said it was all part of the story. Why would we complain?

The pancakes were not that impressive - it tasted more like our desi pitha. The chocolate on top of it was the only saviour. The shiny glasses of the apple juice were more enchanting, the juice tasted the same as it always does.
We were full to the brim. But, more importantly, we were satisfied. Satisfaction in food, like in sex, is important. Everything that we put in our very precious mouths should look like serving a purpose - making us happy.
The Green Apple Mojito of TCH has always been a favourite. My mother is still loyal to it.

For more on other varieties, we tried sandwiches and they were indeed yummy! They are probably the most famous and preferred items of TCH. They can easily be a quick snack bite and also satiate your taste buds.

When you go to a place every other time and exhaust their menu, leading the service staff to give you what you always order on their own, you are bound to get bored after a while. My partner got bored of it and found another place for us. However, he still swears by the Breakfast Story. Some day we are going to explore what breakfasts of Brazil and Europe look like - they have that on their menu too.
Go out and explore these breakfast options.
